Here is some information regarding Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration: We will continue to schedule appointments with parents to allow them to come and complete paperwork for K Registration and Pre-K Applications. Appointments will be scheduled from 8:00- 3:00 each day.
We will have an area for registration and schedule only one parent at a time. The area will be sanitized before and after each appointment. Parents will be required to wear a mask or something covering their mouth/nose and they will not be able to bring other family members with them.
We will not conduct any Kindergarten Readiness Screeners during this time.
We will post on our school website that parents can call or email the school to schedule an appointment for K Registration and PreK Applications.
We will require the same documentation for K Registration as we required prior to the school closure. We will require the same documentation for Pre-K Applications as we required prior to the school closure. Staff members handling documents/making copies will wear gloves.
For families who need a new affidavit, please direct them to call Student Support Services to schedule an appointment for an affidavit. If there is a sibling in the school currently with an affidavit,we can use that affidavit for the enrolling K or Pre-K student. Only new affidavit requests should be directed to call Student Support Services to set up an appointment. Dr. Owens will be sending out additional information regarding the affidavit process.
For any Spanish-speaking families, please direct them to call the Transition Center to schedule an appointment for K Registration or PreK Applications.

Take our title i parent and family survey!!!
Due by June 5th, 2020
The Title I Parent and Family Survey will give us data on areas that we can improve here at WHES. We encourage you to take the survey and have a voice in where we can grow as a school community. The survey takes 4-5 minutes to complete and the survey will close on June 5th. This is a requirement under the Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) for the LEA/district to solicit their feedback on Title I schools. Thank you in advance for assisting us with this task.
ATTENTION ALL RISING 6TH GRADERS!!!
Teacher of the Year
I have always enjoyed working with children. Since 18, I have worked with children in some way, whether in the childcare setting or protective services. When I was looking for a career change, I knew I still wanted to work with children, but in a different capacity. I took the leap and haven't looked back. Teaching has brought me purpose and excitement. It brings me so much joy to make connects with students and seeing the joy in their faces when they have the "aha" moment. The work in not always pretty, but the rewards are great.
TA of the year
My passion for teaching began four years ago when I first became a Teacher Assistant. I enjoy seeing the smiling faces, getting the hugs and the love from each of my students. I love helping my students in my class and throughout the school. I love the fact that I can make an impact on the lives of our next generation. Being a Teacher Assistant has been blessing to me and I hope that I have been able to be a blessing to my students.
